Daniel VERDESCA
Trumpet player and composer, born in Copertino, Lecce,
Southern Italy. He holds a trumpet diploma from thé | T.Schipa Music School in Lecce. He is trained in classical
music as well as jazz and, since 1974, participâtes and I collaborâtes as stage player in numerous musical projects
in Europe and Australia with internationally renowned I musicians such as O.FUMERO - G.L. TROVESI -
J. MORISSON - D.DOUGLAS

From 1978 to 1981, he gives concerts in Germany, France, Switzerland and Italy with thé Nobel 6tet
Band leader and free-lance musician, he directs various salsa and jazz CDs : Rosso di Sera, Verdura Fresca, Swing Apache Arkestra.

In 1983, he meets and begins a long collaboration with Nelson Parra y Grupo Café. A real friendship is also born that will resuit in thé création of
VerdeParra Latin Jazz Big Band in 2004, which they co-direct.

He is currently a jazz trumpet teacher at thé COV Nyon Music School (CH) and at thé ETM School in Geneva.

Nelson PARRA
Saxophone and German flûte player, arranger, composer, songwriter. Born in Bogota, Colombia, in a family of musicians, he begins to study with his father. At 15, he becomes a professional, plays with numerous salsa bands and tours frequently throughout Latin America. He cornes to Europe in 1979 to study in thé Paris, Lausanne and Geneva Conservatories of Music and in thé Swiss Jazz School in Bern.

In 1983 he settles in Geneva. Créâtes and directs GRUPO CAFE with whom he gives many concerts and tours in Europe, notably Switzerland, France and Germany.

In 1994 he records his compositions in New York with thé participation of thé musicians of Tito PUENTE and Willy COLON. The CD "CANTO DE SONERO", whose songs will be heard on Swiss, Colombian, Chilean and New York radio stations, will give a new impulse to his musical career.

He will also be invited twice to London as well as to Paris and Spain on thé occasion of important salsa festivals.
Currently a music teacher in Geneva, he takes up composing and arranging again. The long musical collaboration and friendship with Daniel Verdesca results in thé création of "VerdeParra Latin Jazz Big Band".
